In short

Aluminium scrap is graded under GOST R 54564-2025. The top grade is electrical aluminium (А-1-1): cores and windings free of varnish, paint and oil, deduction from 0%. AD31 profile (А-4-1п) is from 0% plus dirt, castings (А-6-2) and mixed aluminium (А-12-2) from 0.5% + actual, cans (А-4-2) from 5%, turnings from 3%.

Item requirements

Items are described under GOST R 54564-2025. The deduction is the percentage subtracted from the lot weight for impurities, moisture and foreign materials.

An item code consists of class, group and grade. А-1-1 means class А, scrap and lump waste, group I, unalloyed aluminium, and grade 1. GOST R 54564-2025 writes the same grade in the order class, grade, group, that is А-1-I. A trailing letter refines the item in our price list.

Electrical grade aluminium

Standard deduction from 0% + actual
What qualifies
Electrical cores and transformer windings. Grades A8, A7, A7E, A6, A5, AD00, AD0, AD1.
Requirements
Mechanically stripped, over 2 mm thick, stranded cores from 1 mm. Delivered as a separate lot, clean bales allowed. No other metals, varnish, enamel, paint, oil or wire mesh, non-oxidised. Size up to 1000 × 1500 mm.
Extra deductions
  • With contacts the deduction is from 2% + actual.
  • Material that needs dismantling is accepted by agreement.

Wire bundles

Standard deduction from 1% + actual
What qualifies
Dismantled aluminium wire bundles. Grades A8, A7, A7E, A6, A5, AD00, AD0, AD1.
Requirements
Dry and clean, dismantled, not clogged, no foreign matter, non-oxidised.

Food-grade aluminium

Standard deduction from 0% + actual
What qualifies
Household food-grade scrap. Pots, flasks, tableware and pans without non-stick coating that bend rather than break.
Requirements
Over 1 mm thick. No iron attachments, rivets, paint, wood, grease or plastic, non-oxidised and no burnt deposits. Otherwise accepted as mixed aluminium А-12-2.

Standard deduction from 1% + actual
What qualifies
Stripped aluminium cable sheathing.
Requirements
Clean, stripped, no bitumen, plastic, paper or foreign matter.

What qualifies
AD31 aluminium profile.
Requirements

What qualifies
Engine scrap, pistons, bread moulds, AK alloy ingots, brittle cast cookware, cast motor housings, plates over 3 mm thick.
Requirements
Deduction depends on contamination. Assembled engine blocks are not accepted.
Extra deductions
  • Studs, actual deduction up to 24%.
  • Liners in blocks, 30%.
  • Spark plugs or springs on heads, 30%.
  • Spark plugs and springs on heads, 50%.
  • Iron soleplates with metal attachments and heating elements, 55%.
  • Iron soleplates with a heating element, 35%.

What qualifies
Mixed household wrought scrap and sheets, not baled.
Requirements
Non-oxidised. Deduction depends on contamination.

  • Light oxidation on one side of a pipe, from 10%.
  • Excavated or fully oxidised aluminium, 50-70%.
  • Radiators with ferrous inserts along the full length, 70%.
  • Foam-filled roller shutters, 85%.

What qualifies
Aircraft scrap. Decommissioned aeroplanes and helicopters, blades, airframes, aluminium boats.
Requirements

What qualifies
Aluminium car radiators for cooling, heaters and air conditioning.
Requirements
Not clogged. Caps, rods, frames and other attachments incur an extra deduction.

Aluminium turnings

Standard deduction from 3% + actual
What qualifies
Aluminium turnings of various grades and alloys, curly and loose.
Requirements
No stones or bricks. Moisture, iron, impurities and oil are taken into account.

Aluminium turnings +Zn

Standard deduction from 3% + actual
What qualifies
Aluminium turnings containing zinc.
  • Where actual is added to the deduction, the actual contamination of the lot is added to the standard percentage.

Bales

  • Bales of dry scrap and lump waste from 3 mm thick or sheet waste 1-3 mm thick without other metals, varnish, paint or paper are accepted with 0% deduction. Otherwise the actual deduction applies.
  • Slightly magnetic bales are accepted with 8% deduction. Material of another group, plastic, rubber, tar and varnish are not allowed. Strongly magnetic bales are not accepted.

General rules for non-ferrous scrap

  • If a lot mixes different items, the whole lot is accepted at the lowest of them.
  • Dirty material may incur an extra deduction for dirt.

FAQ

What is the deduction on aluminium castings?

Standard - from 0.5% + actual. Extra: studs - actual up to 24%, liners in blocks - 30%, spark plugs or springs on heads - 30%, plugs and springs together - 50%. Assembled engine blocks are not accepted.

Why can food-grade aluminium be accepted as mixed?

Food-grade aluminium (А-1-2) is cookware over 1 mm thick without iron attachments, rivets, paint, plastic, grease, burnt deposits or non-stick coating. If these requirements are not met, it is accepted as mixed aluminium (А-12-2) with a deduction based on contamination.
